Wish I had thought of this idea, and lived close enough to a city where I could find so much live music.
Regarding your journey -- I'm so glad you got to hear and see the Hartford Jazz Orchestra as part of your "1oo/1oo". These guys play together, most Monday nights, week after week. Once in awhile there are substitutes, but it is pretty much the same core group. They do it for the love of music and keeping orchestra jazz and the "big band" concept alive. I try to catch them whenever I am in the Hartford area.

You didn't mention Bobbi Rogers, who often sings with the band. She's a classic as well -- with a voice that has stood the test of time. Maybe she had the night off. Either way, the musical experience is hard to capture in words; entering the Arch Street Tavern and hearing the Hartford Jazz Orchestra is a trip to another musical era. The sound is vintage yet current and it's performed in a the bar/restaurant that's a living piece of New England history -- an old brick and wood carriage house. Glad the orchestra and the bar made your 100 in 100. Come back when you need a fix of loud brass!

just stumbled upon this blog today, and i'm super impressed with your dedication and follow through on a great idea. this might have been an extreme way to show it, but supporting the local music is a very cool thing to do on any level

oh, and great venue beer tap tasting chart >> will come in handy
